Early use can stop a cold sore
This medication is used for the treatment of cold sores
Drug Interaction Precautions :
Seek your doctor's or pharmacists advice before using this product if :
* You are breast feeding
* You have had a bad reaction to this medicine or any other medicines containing aciclovir
* You are suffering from any illness or taking any medication which might make your ability to fight disease less efficient.
Do not use Virasorb Cold Sore Cream on mucous membranes, for example in your mouth, eyes or vagina.
Normally this medicine is well tolerated but occasionally some people may get side effects :
* A few people may get an itchy or red rash, or similar effect after using Virasorb Cold Sore Cream
* Some people may feel stinging or burning when they first use Virasorb Cold Sore Cream
* Occasionally, skin goes red, dry, itchy or flaky after using Virasorb Cold Sore Cream
If you are one of these people and the reaction stays, or becomes troublesome, tell your doctor.
If you get any other unusual or unexpected symptoms, you should tell your doctor or pharmacist
Do not use Virasorb Cold Sore Cream in your eyes. If you get any cream in your eyes, wash it out with lots of cool water. If your eyes feel sore afterwards, tell your doctor

This product should be stored at room temperature, below 25
Adults and Children :
Spread a layer of cream liberally over the sore and surrounding area as soon as the tingling starts.
Apply the cream 5 times daily for 5 days.
If the sore has not healed, continue the treatment for another 5 days.
Directions for using the cream :
Always wash your hands well before and after you use the cream
You should preferably use a cotton bud to apply the cream. If a cotton bud is not available you can use a clean finger to spread the cream
Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, cover all the blisters and surrounding skin with cream every four hours. This means that you will apply the cream 5 times a day, leaving out the night-time dose
You should use the cream as soon as you notice the symptoms. If you get cold sores regularly, you should start using the cream as soon as you feel the tingling
or smarting that tells you one is coming
You usually use Virasorb Cold Sore Cream for five days
If your sore has not completely healed after five days you should carry on using the cream for another
five days. If the sore still has not gone after ten days treatment, stop using the cream and tell your doctor
Each tube of Virasorb Cold Sore Cream contains : 100mg Aciclovir Cream Ph Eur 5%w/w
The cream also contains Arlatone 983S, Dimeticone, Cetyl Alcohol, Liquid Paraffin, White Petrolatum, Propylene Glycol and Purified Water.
