Unscrew cap, remove tamper evident seal and replace cap. Do not use if the seal is missing or broken.  Product is only sterile until seal is broken.

1. Protect wound edges with a barrier cream
2. Medihoney Antibacterial Wound Gel™ can be applied directly on the base of the wound. Avoid direct contact between the wound and the nozzle of the tube.
3. Ensure that the Medihoney™ Antibacterial Wound Gel™ is in full contact with the base of the wound - approximately 3mm thickness (1/4 inch). Apply more if wound fluid is present.
4. A suitable non-adherent sterile pad or dressing should be applied to cover the Medihoney™ Antibacterial Wound Gel.
5. The dressing should be suitably absorbent to manage wound fluid (exudate).
6. Medihoney™ Antibacterial Wound Gel™ can be left on the wound for up to 7 days dependent on the amount of fluid present. The dressing should be changed when it is saturated with wound fluid or if the cover dressing is leaking.
7. At the removal of dressing the waxes contained in the Medihoney™ Antibacterial Wound Gel™ may remain leaving a protective layer. These waxes can be washed away at each dressing change.

*A small amount of honey may be observed when opening the tube. This is normal and is not an indication of product deterioration.

*The wound may appear larger in size and depth as dead tissue is cleared away. This increase should be followed by an improved appearance of the wound.

*Do not use on patients who have had an allergic reaction to honey.

*Medihoney™ Antibacterial Wound Gel ™ is not recommended for use in deep wounds or body cavities where removal of the waxes  may be difficult.

*For any experience of a reaction other than a short lasting stinging sensation, remove the dressing and wash the affected area.

*To be used with caution and close observation on heavily exudating wounds

*In the event of a slow or non-responding wound please seek medical advice
