For the temporary relief of constipation
Liquid Paraffin is a laxative and lubricant. It lubricates and softens the stools and helps produce bowel movements
Liquid for Oral Use :
Adults, the elderly : Take 2 to 6 x 5ml spoonfuls when required
Children over 3 years : Take 1 to 4 x 5ml spoonfuls when required
Do not exceed the stated dose
Not recommended for children under 3 years of age.
Avoid prolonged use
Consult your doctor if laxatives are needed every day, if you have persistent abdominal pain or a condition that makes swallowing difficult
Do not use if you are sensitive to Liquid Paraffin, pregnant or breast feeding, except on the doctor's advice. Ask your doctor before use if you have persistent abdominal pain, a condition that makes swallowing difficult or you need to use laxatives every day, as these may be symptoms of a more serious disease. Liquid Paraffin may affect the uptake of some vitamin supplements by the body. If unsure ask the doctor.
If you accidentally take too much, see a doctor straight away
Side effects :
Prolonged use may result in paraffin leaking from the anus. This may cause anal irritation, inflammation and the formation of nodules. Accidental inhalation may cause congestion of the lungs.
If you notice any of these or other side effects stop using the product and tell your doctor or pharmacist
