To use, shake the bottle well before use, allow the liquid to settle for at least 10 seconds, then use the included dosage syringe to draw and administer an appropriate dosage to your child. Never exceed dosage amounts and always refer to the instructions before using.
Calpol Sugar Free Infant Suspension has a pleasant strawberry flavour and is easy to swallow. There is a double-ended spoon in the pack. The large end is a 5ml spoon and the small end is a 2.5ml spoon. Check the table below to see how much Calpol Sugar Free Infant Suspension to use.
Infants under 2 months
One small (2.5ml) spoonful if your baby is feverish after vaccination at 2 months. If your baby is ill at any other time, tell your doctor, do not use Calpol Sugar Free infant suspension unless your doctor tells you to.
Infants 2 months to under 1 year
One to two small (2.5ml) spoonfuls up to 4 times a day.
Children 1 to 6 years
One to two large (5ml) spoonfuls up to 4 times a day.
Children over 6 years
Ask a pharmacist to recommend a suitable product.
Shake the bottle thoroughly.
Repeat the dose every 4 to 6 hours if the pain or fever is still there.
Do not use more than four doses each day.
Do not use more spoonfuls than shown in the table
If the pain or fever is not getting better after a few days, talk to your doctor.
Do not give your child Calpol Sugar Free Infants Suspension for more than 3 days without speaking to your doctor.
Tell your doctor straight away if anyone swallows too much Calpol Sugar Free Infant Suspension, even if they do not feel ill. If you cannot do this, go to the nearest hospital accident and emergency (casualty) department. Take along any medicine that is left and the carton so that the hospital staff can easily tell what medicine you have taken. Immediate medical advice should be sought in the event of an overdose, even if the child seems well, because of the risk of delayed, serious liver damage.
Each 5ml of medicine contains 120mg of Paracetamol. Also contains Maltitol, E420, E218, E214 AND E122.
