Adults, Elderly (over 65) and Children over 12 years -
Two 5ml spoonfuls four times a day - Maximum daily dose 40ml
Children 6-12 years -
One 5ml spoonful four times a day - Maximum daily dose 20ml
Not recommended for children under 6 years
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is time for your next dose. Do not take two doses at the same time.
Drug Interation Precautions
As with all similar medicines, if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, consult your pharmacist or doctor before taking this product.
Side effects are rare, however if you get any unusual effects, stop taking the medicine and tell your doctor or pharmacist at once.

Benylin Dry Coughs (Non-Drowsy) is suitable for most people, but a few people should not take it. Ask yourself the following questions to check whether Benylin Dry Coughs (Non-Drowsy) is suitable for you :-
* Have you ever had a reaction to Benylin Dry Coughs (Non-Drowsy) or to any of its ingredients?
* Do you suffer from liver or lung disease?
* Are you pregnant, trying to become pregnant or breast-feeding?
* Are you taking medicines prescribed by your doctor, particularly anti-depressants medicines known as mono-amine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI)?
If you answer yes to any of these questions, do not take Benylin Dry Coughs (Non-Drowsy). Talk to your doctor or pharmacist at once.
If you accidentally take too much, tell your doctor at once. If you can't do this, go to the nearest hospital accident and emergency (casualty) department. Take along any syrup that is left, the bottle and the label so that the hospital staff can easily tell what medicine you have taken.
Side Effects :
Side effects are not common with Benylin Dry Coughs (Non-Drowsy) and when they occur they are usually mild.
Occasionally dizziness, upset stomach, nausea or vomiting may occur.
If you get any of these, or any other unusual effects, stop taking the medicine and tell your doctor or pharmacist at once.
This product is not recommended for children under 6 years

Each 5ml contains the active ingredient : Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide Ph Eur 7.5mg
It also contains : Sorbitol Solution, Glycerol, Sugar Solution, Glucose Syrup, Citric Acid Monohydrate, Sodium Benzoate, Caramel, Saccharin Sodium, Imitation Peach Flavour, Levomenthol, Alcohol, Carbopol and Water
